But reported hate crimes in the UK were 140,561 in the year ending March 2024.

Compared to 2,150 over here (a difference of 138,411).

The UK is a hostile place if you're a minority or marginalised person.

It's so incredible how low homicide rates are in Europe. The UK, with a population of 70 million people, had fewer than 600 murders in 2023.

It's interesting. I don't see a lot of my stuff as horror horror either. I used to call it dark fantasy, though that means something different these days. And gay suspense sounds like holding your breath during the Bake Off finale or something.

Life's too short to waste on books you don't enjoy. DNF with love. Maybe the book isn't to your taste. Maybe you're not in the mood. It doesn't mean it's a bad book. It just means it wasn't for you.
