I share this far too often it remains one of my favourite things. Siobhán bought me it maybe 12 years ago in Brussels I hadn’t heard of Jourdan or Tilleaux but I was drawn to it in the bookshop of the Museum le Bande Dessine. Bought some Jije, Moebius and Franquin as well

After 25 years I find less and less reason to go into Central London mostly just limit myself to a trip to Gosh. If you are young or a tourist I am sure it’s super exciting but I see nothing that’s not in any other city. Still Samnee is drawing the long Halloween as well this week so all is good

I am too vanilla to know much about Kendrick or rap in general although I saw the superbowl thing and he doesn’t like Drake which I can get behind

Two years later and I am probably not still 100% and the physical side had caught up with me needing a couple of operations to put things right. People I know there say they have to do so much more for less money with less people

Worked for a few companies where I did well but through some loyalty/ work ethic thing I worked far too many hours and gave up too much personal time over the years that I regret now as I was burnt out by 50. Took redundancy in restructuring rather then take new role for significantly less

People often ask me when the deadline for Thought Bubble is. And I tell them *aggressive hissing*. But if you would actually like to know it is 11am on November 6th for anything perfect bound (with a spine) and 11am on November 7th for anything stapled.

Now everyone knows the British didn’t drop Dracula on the Nazis like a bomb in WWII.

What this book presupposes is…maybe they did?

That’s the danger isn’t it , that AI just seeps in as people with talent start to think they can hit deadlines or get more work by being quicker. They’ll just use it a wee but until it takes over and the publisher cottons on and thinks well I do not actually need you

Brilliant for the arts in Ireland. Imagine if this was here in the UK. Ireland will now inevitably power ahead in this sector while here in the UK, the Government continue to actively harm and attack creative industries worth billions to the economy. The short-sightedness makes me very angry.

Damn. This is amazing. £325 per week, paid monthly, for 3 years - and the result was a profit for the Irish economy:

Post from Threads user rodneyowl: "Ireland has declared the Basic Income for Artists scheme permanent. This will be officially announced in tomorrow’s budget. Details to follow. Congratulations to all who fought for it and the present and future artists of all sorts in Ireland. That includes me 👌We’re just comin to the end of a 3 year pilot scheme. It’s been a roaring success. For every €1 paid out to the 2000 participants, the government got €1.46 back. Can’t argue with that. Other countries are already taking note."

After a spot of squirrel chasing in the park Bella and I like to watch a Rupert Davis Maigret. In fairness she usually works out who has done it before I do.
I might need to get out more

As long as I could supply the postcodes of the places I had applied to they didn’t care much l, no support offered and mostly met with shrugs when I inquired about retraining.
Some others wouldn’t even have to supply evidence of job search. Frustrating but it will get better for you
