When musicians or actors are told to "Stick to what you're good at, and stay out of politics", this can usually be translated as "You've used your platform to reveal a truth that I find uncomfortable, so I'm going to ignore all the other artists who conveniently affirm my own worldview."

Why am I sitting in a play house to read this Emily Dickinson poem?

Yes. You may well ask.

Hello BlueSky. Can you give this a read? It's the opening chapter from a six-book YA fantasy sequence - starts out fairy tale, ends up Lovecraft - that I'm trying to self-publish, having exhausted other options. First chapter is free; if people like it I'll put out the whole thing.

I've been working on my author page. I did one of those Guardianesque Q and A things to explain the book series I've been writing. Should you stop by, please do let me know what you think!

(And yes, I know it could probably use a picture or two.)

One of the things I love about Pratchett - and one reason why he is so eminently quotable - is because he can say, in only a few words, exactly what most of us are thinking.

Well, this is exciting.

Hello BlueSky. I'm a piano teacher and father of four. I've written a six book YA fantasy series that's been doing the rounds with agents (unsuccessfully) for years. While I try and get that published, have a bit of Shakespeare.
