This happened in my town. The Albemarle County Sheriff's department is responsible for security, and when I've been in court (for jury duty and as a civil witness) armed sheriff's deputies controlled the entrance, including screening for weapons. Conclusion: the sheriffs let these guys in.

...and what business in the world would make such an investment based on the mood swings of our mad King? And even if we did "reshore" substantial production, it would be at a higher price than we're currently paying - otherwise it would have already happened without a tariff. 3/n

If businesses see tariffs as high and permanent, then moving production to the US might become a better way to serve the (huge) US market. But if this will only happen if the tariffs are seen as permanent... 2/n

nice thread, John. I'll add just a few points: Although Trump's tariffs are crazy, the idea that higher tariffs would cause more goods to be produced in the US is not crazy 1/n
