Just two days left to sign this petition to fix the only remaining public transit link between the Maritimes and the rest of Canada!
Poor 🛤️maintenance by CN in NB is a key reason Via Rail's Montreal to Halifax 🚊 takes 5 hours longer than it did in the 90s - limited to 30km/h in places! It's the only transit link between the Maritimes and the rest of 🇨🇦. Tell the Federal Government to step in! www.ourcommons.ca/petitions/en...

Love a good Canadian politics podcast for long drives. These one kept me company while driving around NB and NS.

Does anyone have some podcast recommendations? Always on the lookout for good podcasts, especially if it's about Maritimes/Atlantic Canada politics and news.

Not too shabby, if I do say so myself

Good article here. I agree that civics should be more engaging and hands-on in the classroom, where possible. One of the bigger barriers is that civics is viewed as kinda boring by students, which builds apathy towards it.

An improved civic education to help sustain our democracy
Canadian teachers are ill-equipped and under-trained to help make today’s chil-dren the citizens of tomorrow. What if we helped them out?

What strikes me as interesting is the difference between NS and the other Atlantic provinces. I get Halifax has a lot going on, but as someone who has been looking at houses in NS and NB, houses are still fairly pricey even an hour or more outside of Halifax.
Our major cities are still very much in the middle of a housing crisis

Perhaps an unintended consequence of this tax holiday is that it puts a real squeeze on coffers of provinces that have HST. I can't see the federal government footing the bill for the provincial cost, but it will be interesting to see how this pans out.
