Nerd, tinkerer, lunatic.
A couple more feet and you'll almost have room for a CPC464! 😂

It's essentially the same but I just rounded off the corners - It still fits fine and is indeed cute. 🙂

It was a fun tool for catching up with friends but then, followed the pattern for most new things.

It became a business and then proceeded to squeeze every drop of money out of it.

I get tired of companies hitting my attention span like a pinata until revenue comes out.

I thought it was just me! ☺️

Two separate coils are way better. The front coil acts as a damper for the rear coil and it all sorts of balances itself out at medium volume.

I have to switch it but it means I have an ideal config for the Speccy and C64.

I still need to fine tune the pause response but it's pretty decent as is.🙂

I'll do a slow rip, and convert each block at a time. The dead spot is towards the end of the loading screen so it'll be easy to see if it's right.

I'm not bad with audio editing so should be able to sort it out. My theory is that the timing in the other tzx files are a smidge off, hence weird. 🙂

Got a decent enough export from a tape player but there's a nasty little dead spot.

I'm going to try dropping the deck speed by half, recording it, then doubling it back up again. I'll see what I'm left with after that, it works in an emulator but won't convert to .tzx (yet) 🙂

"Didn't anyone ever tell you to make sure your optics are clean?" goes through my head every time I fire up the Laser-Goose. 🙂

Real Genius is an epic movie!!

Also regarding the question. I haven't realised yet. 😂

I did it for a bit of fun tbh, I might put a coil on it and see how it behaves.

There's an interesting resistor/capacitor network type thing on there I'd like to have a poke at too. 🙂

Thrown together with zero finesse but I'm not going to argue with the results. ☺️

Hah! I spy with my little eye...

This is good, this is VERY good...

Hold please. 😁

Lol! I can imagine the reaction - 'Code? By hand? With your brain??' 😂
November 5, 2025 at 5:41 PM
The whole 'anything for content' thing that mystifies me.

I'd do my best doddery old dude act and be all like 'are you one of those people from TitCock?'

Then go on an Abe Simpson style diatribe. 😂

He wouldn't be the first person I've said 'Begone, vile content Goblin!' to... 😂

That 2 way expansion gives me an idea for a future project... 🤔

Ordered. ☺️

Programmed and built. It could be snappier but I'm going with safe timings for now.

Also, as alignment isn't critical, I jiggered with the shell design a bit. 🙂
November 4, 2025 at 6:46 PM
It got a bit complicated with that and an interrupt as well so I went for the simpler route. 🙂
November 2, 2025 at 5:55 PM
I'll swap it with an attiny85. It only needs a couple of pins. ☺️
November 2, 2025 at 2:38 PM
Well, that's much smaller, I'll need to do some programming next. ☺️
November 2, 2025 at 2:36 PM
The PCB is little more than a breakout board for the attiny and hall effect sensor but should definitely do the job.

Into the tub it goes. ☺️
