Another person who would surely have been in contention is Gérard Férey, who sadly passed away in 2017. His MIL-53 and MIL-101 structures continue to wonder and show new applications.

I'm really happy to see that MOFs got the Nobel prize, & that they picked these 3 scientists, who really drove the field. Especially Richard Robson, whose visionary paper showed the first synthesis & predicted the design & functionality of these materials #ChemNobel #Chemsky @rsc-pormat.bsky.social

Good call, I used to run with City of Hull and they did a Winter League where every race is a staggered start, makes for a great finish. People
