Last night I had to make a SciComm video about sunscreen for a client. It took 8 takes. I don’t think I’ll tan again until about 2030.

- why did I start 3 min late
- how do I choose my waiting music
- how do I deal with reluctant engagers
Very nerdy 🤓
Which is great because nothing in my sessions is accidental.

Tomorrow is a little different. Having trained over 50,000 researchers (🤯) I’m spending the day with a Researcher Development team sharing how I do what I do.

One of my guiding principles is creating training that I (a socially awkward grumpy weirdo) would be comfortable with.

This is apparently different world, different characters and different magic. The guardian said it’s hard to find anything connected with Potter. It’s also from a queer author - but yes, they did cut their teeth on fanfic

But I’m just looking now. I just saw a hyped fantasy book and bit.

My 15 year old one has reached the end of its life (without extreme measures) so getting a new one. So I’m wondering if I start with annual services - which seem silly after a year. But 🤷‍♂️

There really should be a class in school on “general life”
Finding stopcocks, arranging a pension, boiler maintenance. Long term more useful than the annual cross country run or watching Grease in music class(twice).

I want to ask an incredibly dull question- annual boiler service: is that an actual thing grown ups do? Or is it like “replace your pillows every 2 years” which we universally agree no one does.

I was just wondering earlier, what drives people to be needlessly mean only. It seems a poor dopamine source.

You might do. I lost my retainer and wasn’t able to get a new one for 2 months. When they rescanned they had moved. So instead of new night-retainer I opted for a new 8 week course

My smile is resorted. Second time I’ve used Invisalign to straighten up my teeth.
