Your second paragraph should be the focus. His strong-arming and intimidation of what is supposed to be an independent agency is his MO. Congress (and the Supreme Court if they weren't captured) shouldn't approve or tolerate it.

Any from this century worth mentioning?

No worries, no one ever wanted it there

A better case for that, but if something should be abolished I'd say it should be any self-pardons.
December 2, 2025 at 2:58 AM
We don't need to abolish the pardon power. We need to impeach any president that abuses it.

Disagree that if Rs had extended subsidy for a year it would have helped them politically. Clearly would have been attributable to Ds pushing for it. A lot of Dem establishment seems to regularly overthink the "political implications" trying to be razor sharp, but flops at solidarity & resonance.

Not sure I agree that withdrawing from and ceding X to the far right was the way to go. So we have separate platforms now and they continue on X unabated - great. Tesla's record sucked pre-2025 too so I'd maybe go back father on that one.

She did say she couldn't think of anything she would change from Biden and dnc refused to let anyone from Palestine speak at the convention. You can say people are lying, but I don't get not understanding why so many against the genocide didn't back her.

As a Kansan thank you for going to Wichita. I believe it's one of the redder cities in the US so that means room for improvement.

I may have said At War With The Mystics. Yoshimi is maybe more cohesive as an album though.

Good no call.. Hardaway tried to put his shoulder and foot in the line of the defender and not a ton of contact.

Yeah I think moderate dem candidates do try to mirror the electorate. I'm suggesting they mis-read this time. For Harris young, anti-war, progressive voters would have been more winnable than the indies Joe won, but they went center rt. A passionate, principled candidate would be best.
April 22, 2025 at 3:35 PM
Yes. I think Bernie could have won tho. But the tough thing is that choosing most electable candidate necessarily entails catering to the least reliable voters. We did that in 20. But imo leaders sadly assumed entire Dem constituency was ok with dismissing Gaza.
April 22, 2025 at 1:42 PM
Just saying Bernie followers are bizarrely categorized as not falling in line / unreliable when they are actually more likely to vote Dem than those whose preferred Biden. In other words, 'blue no matter who' actually refers to Bernie followers more than Biden but that's not how it's used.
April 22, 2025 at 2:38 AM
The other irony is that crowd is ideologically closer to independents / swing voters who actually will not vote blue no matter who. They admitted it when they said Biden was more likely to win the general than Bernie.
