How about there are many different things we need to care about that are terrible and horrific.

They care about genocide when it's just yelling on the Internet and telling other people they are bad, but not enough to actually put a mask on their face.

It sucks that so many parents wave the "my kid is in the gifted program" flag so that their kid isn't associated with autism\etc.
But that doesn't mean that lateral ableism back is okay either. Because being sloppy about "gifted kids" means throwing struggling kids out with the ableist bathwater.
