I just called Senator Collins’ office 202-224-2523. I thanked her for writing a letter to the White House with Sen Patty Murray (Dem). The letter indicated they believe that the WH was acting outside the law when seizing Congressional funds. I applauded her and encourage to continue speaking out…

I just called Sen Wicker’s office to thank him for initiating a bi-partisan attempt to investigate the Signal debacle. I also said I would support his efforts to hold Pete Hegseth accountable…

I am not sure we have the luxury of waiting till the midterms to try and effect an impeachment. I think we need to watch for cracks in the R’s solid wall and contact possible Congressfolk who could be “turned”. I have observed several. See the next post for a list.

I am so torn! Look up Senator Sheldon Whitehouse’s video assessment I tried to paste it here but it did not work…

The greatest business battle EVER to be fought will come when President Elon starts trying to implement AI for federal processes.

The battle will be fought over which company’s AI will be used by the feds.

This is a zero sum battle that will create more chaos than this country has ever seen

I have been talking to the media, Time, Fortune, NBC, etc., to explain how the onslaught on science and NIH will impact the health of all Americans. Everyone knows someone who has cancer, heart disease, or depression. Spread the word about how cutting science impacts all.

5/ Build community: Share the cognitive load. Different people track different issues. Network intelligence beats individual overload.
Remember: They want you scattered. Your focus is resistance.

Look for those explaining patterns, not just events.
3/ Remember: Feeling overwhelmed is the point. When you recognize this, you regain some power. Take breaks. Process. This is a marathon.
4/ Practice going slow: Wait 48hrs before reacting to new policies. The urgent clouds the important.

What now?
1/ Set boundaries: Pick 2-3 key issues you deeply care about and focus your attention there. You can't track everything - that's by design. Impact comes from sustained focus, not scattered awareness.
2/ Use aggregators & experts: Find trusted analysts who do the heavy lifting of synthesis
January 28, 2025 at 6:33 PM
3/ Agenda-setting theory explains the strategy: When multiple major policies compete for attention simultaneously, it fragments public discourse. Traditional media can't keep up with the pace, leading to superficial coverage.
The result? Weakened democratic oversight and reduced public engagement.
