I'm dealing with a wild bee colony displaced by an idiot with a chainsaw. I think the queen was killed, but a new one might be out on mating flights by now. The two halves have been moved close (40cm) together. Any other hints or tips. The householder is sympathetic, but wants the colony relocated.

Honey bees are really 'furry' when they first hatch. At this time of year they live about 5 or 6 weeks. The 'fur' comes off as they age, so you can tell how busy and how old a worker bee is by how smooth she is.

English Bluebells? Paler than the invasives, with flowers on just one side of the frond, not all around.
Trouble is, they hybridise readily.
