There are still a lot of folks struggling economically who are attracted to whichever party promises to improve their situation. All parties need to demonstrate a plan for these folks and address the T factor. Showing their big picture plans for Canada would be helpful, too.

I think, over time, people's desire for individual choice has supplanted the willingness to do things for the public good. Not just in health care, but also education and the environment, and undoubtedly in other areas as well.
