No she's not. She stands in New York Harbour, in New Jersey, on the border with New York. The blue bit goes down about 150 miles south as far as Delaware and Maryland and the mouths of the Potomac and Susquehanna Rivers.

When I lived in New York City, it was advised not to enter an empty Subway car because it's empty for a very good reason, notably a foul smell of human creation...
