Sold my first print of the dynamic image of running Camargue horses to a collector! I framed it simply for her with a white mat and frame that lets the contrast of the photo really stand out. #artcollecting

I’ve been neglecting BlueSky lately! Here are a few photos I took of the majestic white horses of the Camargue in southern France a couple of weeks ago. This is not my usual subject matter, but it was a wonderful experience and I actually got some images I really like. #horses #camargue

“They Don’t Make Them Like That Anymore,” fashion edition. This hoodie was my mom’s — I think she got it around 1980. I still wear it to this day. Even the drawstrings are still in perfect condition. 100% cotton, made in the USA. This thing is iron!

I’ll avoid the obvious choice of a John Waters film and go with this one too. (12 Monkeys)

A movie that takes place where I am from: Tin Men (1987) I got to know a few members of the cast because I worked at the hotel where they stayed during filming. Bruno Kirby was the nicest man ever. Danny DeVito was really cool too.

I love how the lines and textures of these leaves are emphasized by rendering them in black and white. #longwoodgardens #photography

Daybreak and midday. Reflections of the clock tower at The Edition in Manhattan. I like the complexity of the cityscape, clock reflection, and the construction workers in the building across the way. #photography

Sometimes black and white is the answer. I’m more known for color work, but eliminating color can emphasize the forms, textures, and light, introducing a level of mystery and abstraction. #photography

I spent a lovely few hours the other day at the US National Botanical Garden, which is a perfect place in DC to escape into a peaceful world of plants. Backlit leaves are my jam. #photography

Ah, you know where to look! I find some of the best images in the stormwater management ponds on my hikes… 😀

Desert trumpets are challenging to photograph well, and so fascinating! I had some fun framing them in different ways on a very foggy morning in Joshua Tree. #photography

A photo for the day. My husband really liked this one when he saw it on my laptop screen last night. This was taken a little over a week ago during our last cold snap. My favorite thing about winter is photographing ice. #photography

Some details from Escalante Petrified Forest State Park. It’s a little gem in the Grand Staircase National Monument in southern Utah. Nice campground and a good short hike to see these lovely specimens scattered across the landscape. #naturemacro

I am a big fan and supporter of the #NationalParks and have been closely following the @altnps.bsky.social updates. In support and solidarity I thought I’d start sharing some photos of the many national parks and monuments I have visited and enjoyed so much.

It’s cold and windy here today. Temps will be dropping this week. Maybe I will get another opportunity to make some ice photos! #ice #photography

A photo I took a few months ago and slept on until yesterday — with just a bit of editing (contrast, dodging and burning, and a rotate and crop). What do you see? #abstractphotography #photographer

A meditative photo for today. I just scrolled through my photos and decided on an abstract of one of my favorite subjects, koi fish. In this photo I’ve caught the koi from behind, emphasizing the texture and gesture of the tail. I find the result to have more of a botanical effect. #meditative #koi
