Als het er echt op aan komt, dan staat Nederland op. Dat zagen we in 2015 toen Syriërs moesten vluchten , er waren veel lokale acties. Dat zagen we weer toen Oekraïners op de vlucht sloegen.

Ik hoop dat dat voldoende is in de toekomst.

If the extreme right wins again on 29 October, this is what we must try to hold on to. Rather than relying on left wing parties and media, we should foster a culture of protest and direct action and build networks of solidarity. After last Sunday, I am starting to have a sense that we could do it.

Yesterday 250.000 people assembled in Amsterdam to protest the complicity of the Dutch government with the genocide in Gaza. This amounts to 1.4% of the country's entire population. We were there to show our solidarity with the Palestinians, but this massive turn-out also conveys something else.

Danielle Braun brengt het nodige onderscheid tussen anti-Israel en anti-joods. Keren Hirsch van het Cidi zal dat nooit doen. Cidi wordt ook hier weer gehoord. Dat is gevaarlijker voor joden. Dat zien we nu ook weer in de VK: de nazi omvolkingsretoriek over linkse joden. 1.
