Two questions for the Chancellor: 1) have the plans for airport expansion been reviewed against the UK’s climate law? 2) and why not wait for the @thecccuk.bsky.social 6th carbon budget next month?

Delays/legal challenge are written all over this rather than the speed gov. wants…feels a misstep.

The @thecccuk.bsky.social has suggested that SAFs may play a role in the future, but that demand will have to be constrained to meet aviation ghg targets.

In short, supporting another runway at Heathrow would mean that commensurate capacity will have to be reduced from airports elsewhere.

The “Mission Control” delivery models seems to be working brilliantly for grid decarbonisation. What if the UK tackled each major GHG contributing sector in 5 year Missions…?
