I've been here just under 3 years and snow just outside my home is still extremely novel to me.

Spotted aglaja, shaggy mouse, sea lemon, kelp crab, and sunflower sea star. Hope they're making a comeback after their recent population decline!

Moon snail egg collar! The first time I saw these sandy creations, I assumed they were somehow manufactured - silly me. Moon snails combine their eggs, mucus, and sand to create these collars. Over the next couple of weeks the thousands of eggs will hatch into larvae, disintegrating the structure.

Beyond grateful to have found another nudibranch specimen! This one has a cute lil peach nose and some rosy coloration. 🥰 I really liked the evidence of a seagull attempting to pick up a sea star and eventually giving up. A shy clam. A little shrimpy guy, and another beautiful day.

Northern Feather Duster Worm, shaggy mouse nudi, dogwinkle snail eggs, nudibranch eggs, clam siphon, and a few crows having a crab snack. Today was abundant! 😍 The sea slug was the coolest thing I've ever seen. Glad I spotted it!

Another, full video of the seagull with its sculpin prey. A fairly hardy lunch, I think. I did a double take when I realized what the bird had in its mouth - can't say I've seen this before!

Ok, I'm back at the beach. Squid egg sac, seagull caught a tidal sculpin, anemone, fish head, a few anemones enjoying a crabby snack, red rock crab INSIDE the carcass of another red rock crab, and grazing sanderlings. Another beautiful day spent sun kissed in the salted air.

My jacket was jingling with how many pebbles I picked up today. Not a whole lot of critters this time, but the way the pebbles rolled back in the waves, and that one empty clam, gave me a nice brain burrrrrr.
