This is painful, and saddening, and embarrassing. I feel like we're losing a member of the family - and for no good reason other than that some Americans wanted another season of the worst reality TV show in history.

Like she did for others, @joyannreid.bsky.social elevated me. She was the first cable host to have me on as a subject matter expert. She’d reach out personally when news broke that’s in my wheelhouse, always thinking of ways to include me. She helped me find my voice, my lane.
