Still finding the words for how First Friday went—unexpectedly amazing. I thought it might feel like a solo craft fair (which I usually dread), but it was totally different. Thank you all for showing up! It was so wonderful! If you weren’t able to make it the show is up all month (And on my website)

Every D’lighted painting I make is so special. This one had so many pieces of play as I created it. I really feel like it was when the spark turned to fire and I realized I had to keep going, that I was creating artwork that truly felt unique and all mine. Prints are now available on my website!

Snow days as a kid were pure magic! I spent hours building forts, but the best was when my sister shook a tree while I held onto the trunk inside—I felt like I was in a snow globe!

This piece along with a few others are now avalible on my website: JanisMarshallart.com/snow-paintings

These pieces are made with real snow! I lay out the paper and let the snow fall on it. Then I add paint as it melts, and I add trees once it dries. Painting in snowstorms can be tricky—windy, cold, and often chasing papers—but it’s always worth it!

"Snow makes me feel excited, and if it were up to me, I would have fresh snow falling every day in the winter" - John Sweeney

This was one of the first snowy trees I have ever painted. Sweet and simple, a feeling of stillness. It is calming.

" I used to stare up at the sky to see where the snowflakes were born. I could do it for hours. Well, minutes. But it was always the waiting that was the most fun." - Unknown
I enjoy finding quotes to go with the series I'm working on. It helps me stay inspired and connected to the pieces.

For as long as I can remember, in every snowstorm I try to catch a snowflake on my tongue, always having to close my eyes as it seems like more snowflakes are going straight to my eyes then my tongue.

This whimsical tree feels like it's weathering a storm with the pattern the snow created. Sometimes you just get to weather the storm.

These pieces are now available on my website.

This pine tree has a quirky personality. maybe a hidden moon face too? a bit different than the other heavy trees, but still holds the weight of the snow.

These paintings offer calm reflection, but making them is anything but! It’s a fast, cold process—rushing to paint before the snow melts. Brent and Gilbert think I’m crazy (and hate the cold air I bring in), but it’s worth it!

Dreaming of my snow series in this frigid weather! The “snow” in these paintings isn’t digital—it’s real snow. Using nature itself adds a raw, authentic touch. Hoping the next storm brings more inspiration! ❄️ Prints available on my website. #snowart

I had a really well-worded, adult post written about laying off NPS, National Forest and Dept. of the Interior employees but I’m tired of being articulate about this stuff.

Laying these people off is a mistake. This is stupid. I can’t believe we have to keep saying how important wild spaces are.

Introducing the D'lighted painting "Imagine if..." This piece was started in 2018 and I revisited and finished it in December. This piece is inspired by the nostalgic memories of laying in the grass looking for images in the clouds. #janismarshallart #dlightedpainting #lightupart

In 2018 I started a series called Sappy Saturdays (I later changed to Memorable Moments). I have people send me their stories to paint. I absolutely love creating them! I am going to start sharing them. This couple got engaged at Red Rocks listening to their favorite band. I'd love to paint yours!

Introducing "Winter's D'light" This one was started back in 2018, then tucked away, until it started calling to me. "Psst, over here, Hi? Hello? I'm ready..." So, I gave it a full makeover, transforming it into a stunning snowy space. Sometimes art just needs a little time to find its voice.

Meet "Rabbit Tracks" This one’s extra special to me—those little tracks are my favorite detail! The extra glow? I love how this piece flowed naturally as I painted. Sometimes, it’s about trusting the process and pushing through until it feels just right. Sign up for my emails for reproductions
