Unlike a lot of people I do feel sad for him. He comes across as a kind and generous man of faith. I wonder if he was just too kind and didn’t want to think the unthinkable of someone he knew. Sadly not traits helpful in the leader of a big organisation which has to seen as acting as it preaches.
