Managed to make these rolags out of my combing discard. Never really tried a woolen prep before so I'm excited to see how this spins up!

Got myself a comb and hackle set and made my first three birds nests. Can't wait to see how these spin up compared to the fairly textured batt they came from.
Next goal is learn to comb with less waste material if possible

236 yards measured on a cat tree because I can't be bothered to get a niddy noddy
My longest spin yet and it feels like such an accomplishment. Unfortunately this partially felted braid I started with is too scratchy for me to wear so open to ideas for what to make with it

Question for spinners how would you prepare this wool for spinning?
It's got lots of curls, clumps and some VM in it, so I'm not able to spin as consistently as I'd like. It was fine for learning on but after spinning some other fibers I'm starting to think this is a prep issue and not a me issue

Plied up two nano bobbins of alpaca on my new #eew 6.1. this thing is so much more powerful, the uptake is beautiful, and my yarn has yet to get caught on the guides. The foot switch is also fun. Also the bobbins feel enormous after using the nano
