I am so privileged to work around such fantastically smart people. Some time ago Marina gave me a quick overview of some of her research and I was 🤯. Congrats to her and you all on getting this toward publication!

Okay, I am tired. I walked out of the NWC with Chris Karstens, but when I saw him my brain said @plustssn.autumnsky.us, so I began chattering away complimenting him on his aurora photos. Afterward, I told Chris "Hey, it could be worse. At least I didn't call you @pmarshwx.com!" 😉

Earlier this month, when paying a bill online, I happened to click the "Choose Currency" button for the payment website. The web browser's suggested choices for currency were, um, interesting.

October 21 marks 20 years since an incredible record was set in my beloved #IslaMujeres.

On 21-22 Oct 2005 this weather station set the Western Hemisphere 24-hour rainfall record, 1633.98 mm (that's over 64.3 inches in 24 hours!) during Hurricane Wilma.

Estoy en el lado sur de OKC para #FiestasOKC y es lo maximo.

I'm at the annual OKC Fiestas De Las Americas on SW 25th and it is the best.

Seen in the NWC Flying Cow cafe. I'm not saying that this is actual @mesonet.org Ticker material, but given where the author is from, I'm not saying it's not, either. 😉

What caught my eye was that there was a bee on this sunflower, but it flew off the instant before the photo snap. Have a bee-utiful day, friend.

TIL that bread pudding is big in Mexico and the rest of Latin America. At a supermercado in Moore, OK, in the pan dulce area, there was this stuff called budin de pan. It's bread pudding made of previous day's leftover rolls + lots of coconut and cinnamon. OMG SO GOOD. Tasty rabbit hole of learning.

Beauty can be found everywhere. I'm at a gas/petrol station. In one direction are the pumps. In the other, this.

I just learned that today, July 16, is World Snake Day. My Mesonet friends know that can only mean one thing.

In case you're wondering, the answer is apparently no.

I saw this as I left work.

Life is short and fragile. Life is also beautiful. Live. Just like this little one, go out there and live.
