I use an ebike with a 20 mph governor and honestly, the existing configuration works well for me (usually traffic so it moves but not wide open where cars feel safe to speed), as I keep up with traffic well (and pass easily). But the incentive for unnecessary lane changes is too strong with 2 lanes.

Yesterday on my morning commute with my kid to school, we were passed by a guy dressed professionally, headed to work, on a glass III, with his office stuff hanging on it, in a car lane. I just can't muster the hate at them.

As a class I user, I think trying to crack down on bad behavior of class IIIs may be laudable, but we're really advocating against ourselves. Any reasonable actions against them, will also be deemed reasonable against us. We already have a BS 15 mph speed limit on all e-bikes on all roads in NYC!
