Screaming into the void
There are certainly examples of him using lawsuits as cover to collect bribes, and this would be a deterrent to those. But that's only part of the problem.

It's a good idea, but I worry it doesn't go far enough.

Trump loves money, yes, but these lawsuits are more about exerting dominance. Trump doesn't actually have to collect a dime to "win." He can still use the threat of a lawsuit to silence perceived enemies and declare victory if they settle.

I'm not even disagreeing with Jamelle. I think he's right here. We shouldn't throw our hands up and accept what the administration is doing. We just need to be prepared to fight back

as i keep saying, the things to do to secure elections are to volunteer to work the polls or to serve as an observer, & to pressure your *state representatives* to take steps to further secure voting locations and ballots. you should also learn about how election administration works in your area.

It's a close seat, so even a small effect could make a difference. And we've seen the chaos these moronic slobs have caused.

It's highly likely that it'll backfire and actually convince more people to vote for Dems, but it's something we need to be prepared for.

The presence of a paramilitary force in one of the few diverse places in the state could absolutely depress turnout because people are afraid to go out. In a close election like CD2, it could be enough to swing it.

I don't think it'll work, I'm just saying we need to be prepared to fight back

I live in Maine. I know people in my neighborhood who are afraid to send their kids to school.

If he sends ICE back to Lewiston, ME in November, it could affect the race for Jared Golden's seat. Maybe it backfires and motivates people to vote Dem in that district, but that's the type of targeted action that could have big consequences

I'm sure Leavitt, Johnson, and all the other Republicans that spent the afternoon pretending he was talking about the SAVE act will be asked about this by the media.

Less than half *of Republicans* are confident that he acts ethically in office. That is insane

She called him an "illegitimate president" but I think Rand Paul is taking that out of context
January 28, 2026 at 4:46 PM
Goddammit, I can't believe Rand Paul is making sense.

Although he misrepresents what Hillary Clinton said about Trump

It's anecdotal, but the guy from HGTV's Good Bones seems to have gotten on board www.instagram.com/s/aGlnaGxpZ2...
