As in the previous years I ran it, we'll be aggressively pro open data - supplying it openly and importing from others (and helping others to provide it for us and everyone else).

Also good to see our static site generator is flexible enought to support building 2 websites from the same source code - one for Itch, one for our own site. docs.staticpipes.jmbtechnology.co.uk/stable/ github.com/TeacakeTech/...

I've actually been trying to learn how to fly radio control model gliders recently so I can tell you with certainty that I can crash a plane

Oh I know someone who was a giant fan of that. Claimed they had watched so much they now thought they could fly a plane out of a storm. (Not actually land it, tho, they added.)

It's understandable to be wary of a 3 year commitment, as if you stop using the service you still have to pay.

But if your use is within the limits you can reserve to get savings with no risk - just cancel if you want to stop using them!

Few hours coding on rainy day yesterday, got a structure of data started, an iCal importer basically working & laid the groundwork for supporting events in multiple timezones.

I'm going to strongly push importing from other (good) sources in this project - & it'll provide open data feeds of course.
