At last week's Full Council meeting, I had the honour of seconding our Labour Group motion on the Renter's Rights Act. The motion also goes one step further, supporting calls made by the Mayor of London for rent controls.

At last night's Full Council, I spoke to our amended motion, originally proposed by Tory opposition on the two-child benefit cap.

Whilst Hackney Labour agrees the cap needs to go, I cannot stand the mere hypocrisy of the opposition proposing this motion when it was their policy!

After a busy few days in the ward, it was lovely to round off the week with #LunarNewYear celebrations at the new East and South East Asian Community Centre.
