This approach to the portal is already antiquated. Experienced rosters are the key not just great recruiting classes. I’d rather see us with the 15th best recruiting class and bring in 15-25 portal guys as long as the system stays like this.

That’s a fair and good point. I still wonder if his experiences prepare him for the role but I’m assuming that a smart guy like him has a lot of contacts around the league I hope he’s successful in his role. If he hires a guy who gets fired in 2-3 years that’s par for the course these days

John lynch is a great example that worked. I love Chris Spielman - I know he’s a special assistant and not the person making final decisions, but has an integral role there. That’s the role that makes the most sense to me a person with zero nfl experience

Exactly! I like Matt Ryan and he may be good, but it’s a 25/75 bet at best that he’ll be good in my opinion. TB may get better but how can someone who has only one foot in the door become great?

I’m convinced that throwing money at talented HS srs is mostly a waste now as paying NIL$ to develop rather than paying for production. Recruiting classes have lost a chunk of their significance until there is a contract involved. Focus more on older developed guys in the portal

Forever fan here and I don’t know a single fan who thinks we’re gonna win. It’s Groundhog Day with this team. We will continue doing what we do- no creativity, no change. If the Texans OC has 2 working brain cells the cover easily

Good point. Unfortunately (for a Steelers fan) everyone knows that the Steelers will do what they do. That’s it. No creativity. Nothing different they do not change.
