For those of us who grew up reading the Left Behind series, it's amazing how evangelicals worship Trump. To date, he's pretty much checking off all the items on the list for Nicolae Carpathia in the books... You know, the antichrist? Not that I believe that anymore, but be consistent, people.

I was in 9th grade when 9/11 happened. I saw people united who had pride in their country...
...and also threw raw pork over the fence at the mosque next door. During their school hours with children outside. Hate is as ingrained into our national fabric as the notion of personal liberty.

So proud of Lakeland, FL. Over 1,000 people showed up in very red Polk county for the No Kings event. Very few counter protesters and some law enforcement gave us the thumbs up as we marched.

The combination of being neurospicy and raised evangelical is a deadly cocktail. My inability to relate to people in my church and my sincere desire for answers always ended in doubting my salvation.
Being 10 and fearing that you're going to Hell just for wanting answers is really fucked up.

I was diagnosed with ADHD and ASD in my mid thirties along with many others in this country. One of the main reasons I wasn't evaluated as a child was once I tested into the gifted program, my stims and social issues became "quirks".
