True, but I was also rather entrenched in my belief he would be a bust and more like the second half guy he was than the freak we saw in the first half.

of course MLB stuck it to the writers scheduling Game 1 of the World Series on the night the movie debuts

Talking with a colleague about Judge's HR last night and am still stunned by the improbability of it all. To pull 99.7 MPH fastball that far in off the plate & keep it fair requires superhuman abilities.

We looked up anything we could find in StatCast & got a null result

Cannot believe he got around that thing like that.

There are like 3 players in the history of this sport capable of crushing that pitch and keeping it fair. We just watched one of them do it. Wow

Raleigh’s homer was so impressive in a park that gives nothing to lefties hitting oppo. It went 391 feet. It was the longest opposite-field homer by a lefthanded hitter at Comerica this year.

I wonder what the costs are these days for a fixed roof vs a retractable one. My guess is one is at least 3x as expensive as the other but that could be short.

Among MLB SPs from 2008-2015 who threw 2 mph or more harder than league average when they debuted, 50% have thrown 1,000 or more MLB career innings.

Among those who who threw 1 mph or more softer than league average, that number was 15%.

You probably keep seeing the thing about how there's a penalty for RP facing same batter 3x in a postseason series, and over time that's true, but it's really noisy. Didn't happen last year. Isn't happening so far this year.

Wrote about it a year ago: www.mlb.com/news/world-s...

The sweet spot is when it’s heated blanket season along with a weighted blanket. I’m a sicko who likes the windows a bit open as long as possible & my best sleeping is done in the winter months.
