Check out the graph on methane in the atmosphere. Looks quite dramatic. Now zoom in and notice that the increase is actually about 18%…over 40 years. In that same time, the world population increased 72% - from 4.7 billion to 8.1 billion. And natural gas production increased by over 100%.
🚨 Methane (CH₄; potent greenhouse gas) reached a preliminary new record high value in September 2024 (1936.6 ppb).
September 2023's global methane abundance was 1925.1 ppb.
