Stardate – THE PAST: Myself, @ashleyvrobinson Tim Sheridan and his lovely husband watching Lower Decks together.

Stardate – NOW: Tim immortalizes me as Captain Stark Inman (Stark’s my hometown) and Ashley as an Andorian in issue 7 of Lower Decks. Honored—now get back to work, you lower deckers!

Who is Dean Kett?
Catch tonight's new WATSON episode on CBS at 9/8c, where Watson delves into an unsolved mystery from his Army days, and Shinwell receives a final request from Moriarty. Writing this episode was a delight, and I hope you all enjoy watching it!

First images just dropped from the Watson ep I wrote, "The Dark Day Deduction."

Watson confronts trauma from his Army days and Shinwell owes Moriarty one last dark favor. Directed by Sheelin Choksey.

But first, brace for episodes 109 & 110 the next two weeks.
They're about to blow your mind.

Fresh off a 12-hour flight, but I hope you caught #watson on CBS tonight - where Watson diagnosed a Revolutionary War reenactor. Here’s Dr. Watson’s magnifying glass from his office desk. Spot it again during your inevitable Paramount+ rewatch. See next week for Ep 3, my Baker Street Irregulars!

Did you notice the paper from Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s “The Adventure of the Dancing Men” in Watson’s office during episode 1 of #watsoncbs? Production Designer Dustin Farrell and his team have hidden several Sherlockian easter eggs throughout. Rewatch the pilot & see how many you can find!

But that’s not the only Easter egg I slipped in. One slide (not visible in the final film) mentions “Nader’s Klingon Opera,” a shoutout to our amazing S31 TV Show writer’s assistant, @mutarada.bsky.social

The slide also references “Anton Karidian -- remember him for TOS?

Who’s Captain A. Williams? That’s a nod to Lt. Ashley Williams from The Red Shirt Diaries, a fan web series I co-created with @ashleyvrobinson.bsky.social. Stratford is her hometown.
I was thrilled to sneak her into Star Trek canon and even more thrilled to kill her off in a real Star Trek movie.

Here's the High Res version of the same screen.
The last line reads...

"While no formal hostilities have been declared, Starfleet Intelligence suspects the Minosian High Council orchestrated the destruction of the U.S.S. Stratford under Captain A. Williams in 2314."
January 29, 2025 at 10:49 PM
We created 8 slides for the scene, but only 3 made it into the final cut. Let’s focus on one: the Minosian High Council screen.

Here’s the image from the film. Check out the last line...

If you caught the mission briefing scene, you might’ve noticed some slides on screen. Most were barely visible, but they all had text. Guess who wrote them? That’s right... me!

Then the incredible Timothy Peel and the Section 31 Motion Graphics Team turned those words into stunning visuals.

It's been a few days since the STAR TREK SECTION 31 premiere, so let me tell you about the coolest Easter egg I snuck into the movie. 👇

Tonight Watson premieres on CBS and Paramount+ — starring Morris Chestnut as Dr. John Watson.

This is the first television show I’ve written on, and I’m so proud to have been part of such an amazing team of writers. Tune in tonight, I can’t wait for you to see it. #WatsonCBS

Happy Star Trek Premiere Day! Here I am on the set of the Baraam, Phillipa Georgiou's sleek space bar from the Star Trek Section 31 movie. I'm reflecting on the moment Craig Sweeny brought me on board for a Star Trek TV show. It's amazing to consider...

It’s an astounding double premiere weekend in my household! First, the Star Trek Section 31 movie hits Paramount Plus tomorrow (I assisted the writer on the film). Then, Watson premieres on CBS Sunday night, and I was lucky to be a staff writer on this new take on the Sherlock Holmes mythology.
January 23, 2025 at 7:14 PM
Also, don’t miss Watson, the new series created by Craig Sweeny, premiering January 26, 2025, on CBS -- I was lucky to be a staff writer on this bold new take on Dr. John Watson!
