I have no idea why. For me, I just thought about the hair blocking the sound. I only remember it in the warmer months, though. I don't remember what they did in the winter. For some reason, I don't have many wintertime school memories. Maybe because I just don't like winter 🤔

I had female classmates in the 80s who put their headphones over their hair. I thought it was weird, even then, that's why I remember it vividly, but it happened. So, yeah, somebody did that.
