Yeah, that’s it, the humanity of cinema, Cox was light on his feet but punching hard. Genius. The book is better than the film, both pretty much faultless.

I’d never seen it, totally recommend it. Great cast.

Can’t see Fat City, so that’s my memory…. The Long Goodbye was fantastic, Gould was great in that.

I remember watching Fat City with Stacey Keach i think on Moviesrome? I must look up all the films they showed. It was formative. Just watched the fantastic Hobson’s Choice for the first time.

This is an incredible book, like a police procedural at times, enthralling read.

It’s a bit messy, but that’s Nic Roeg, it has some extraordinary moments and shouty Hackman is great. Rourke is a bit weak, Pesci is great.

Never seen it, want to see that and Eureka, which I haven’t seen for thirty years.

Bang on with Eureka. My favourite, one of Roeg’s finest too.

A Spanish friend grew up watching dubbed telly from UK & USA & she said she always knew if it was British because soon after someone got murdered someone put a kettle on & made tea. Made me oddly proud.

What other telly you watching if that’s not nosey? I just wonder what travels well?

Next time I see you I’ll tell you a great story about it, it’s in the oral tradition…. John’s great painting was of Blue Pool, Wareham.

John lived in the Alderney area for a few years, I went to play school on the old site. It was apparently the largest gipsy encampment in Europe at the time John lived there.

That about Augustus John living at Alderney Manor at the turn of last century?

Listened to Extricate whilst on a rowing machine yesterday afternoon (self harming however it looks), Chicago Now. Atlas Sound flavour of the month still. Lazy Sunday imminent, went all Neil Young after last week, Dead Man soundtrack.
