“Conservative” legal analysis right now:

Yep. The employer provided insurance model creates a lot of havoc and if we could draw up a system from scratch I'm sure no one would choose to do it that way. But it's hard to see how we disentangle from it without a huge move towards single payer that seems politically unfeasible.

Instead they've spent the last 15 years undermining and killing the pro-market elements of the law because it was passed under Obama. Pure lunacy, particularly when they clearly haven't had an alternative approach the whole time.

Healthcare is one of the of the most telling issues over the last decade and a half that Republicans really don't care about policy outcomes. They could have spiked the ball when the public option was killed and we ended up with essentially Romneycare in 2009 or 2010, whenever the ACA passed.

100%. Trumpism represents the moral collapse of the GOP/American right and it should absolutely be framed that way.

I love how the talking point this week is to just pretend that full-size SUVs don’t exist.

I wish there was some evidence we could be that lucky… other than feeling like we must be due at this point. lol

Such a great game. So many “just one more mission” long nights that became early mornings going back to the original games is the 90s.

People understanding they should just ignore everything they see on social media would be the best outcome.. not holding my breath on that.. haha

Unfortunately it'll probably be really easy to end-run regardless, once people know the rules to figure out how to game it. I'm sure it would be easy enough for someone to set up a server insider the US to run thousands of AI bot accounts that would look like they are in the US.

Agreed, but, currently, at least, the Twitter feature highlights that too. If we had a functional government, this is the type of transparency we'd probably be legislating towards. There are obviously reasons to protect anonymity and not give more specific location data, but this seems.. good? lol

I'm amazed Musk somehow let this happen. It's always been obvious this is going on, and this kind of transparency is exactly what's needed. Curious how long this feature will last, and I hope other platforms adopt it immediately.

But people can negotiate! They will have so much leverage with their pre-existing conditions and whatever tax credit they have to work with.

That is obviously Rosie the Robot moving very fast
