im so curious on how nomura and his team are gonna translate "realistic" heartless designs in 4 based on that screenshot since even in 3 while there are realistic textures in pirates world heartless, the silhouettes/movement are usually very readable

its not as public but you also had the forspoken main director, kh3 battle and level director on 16 as well if you check the credits, so it had a stacked upper level staff from SE internal as well

its also why kh4 is so exciting since this is the 1st time in a long while since 358 where another writer is included with nomura and oka. ishibashi being included in 4 means 4 gonna feel very diff like 358(kanemaki), kh2(nojima), and 1/CoM(watanabe)

yea 358 was his most hands on,also nomura on record w/the ultimania has always been upfront why he doesnt do "main writer" credits and has been very transparent its a collaborative process where he does the outline>another writer like oka for kh3 does the initial script> then he does the final check

what gege and yuji managed to pull off in a insanely short run time is amazing. not just this week but the whole backstory w/ the simurians, dabura's character being totally different from initial expectation, the crisp art. its so good.

more ppl need to talk about that game. kyohei suzuki the battle director was a battle designer on kh3, planning director on recoded and was part of the ff7r prototype team w/ mitsunori takahashi(kh2 battle director) before endo took over

i wish thats what missing link was. just instead of a gps mobile game world map its like generated map like ReCoM or P3's tartarus. you do msq stuff in scala>do astral plane/disney world arena/labyrinth. it wouldve been so doable since most of CoM's msq is in white hallways too

i also feel nomura is very good at listening to feedback, like him bringing back kh1/2 style command menu combat or reactions in 4& knowing they had polygon models for the radiant garden chars before the dlc ready but just didnt use them i feel ff chars will be back in 4 unless something blocks them

yea that too, i just assumed the entirety of the keyblade graveyard>final world>to scala both from a thematic and game design angle is what he wanted to do for a long time. b/c it is all really impressive when you didnt have launch kh3 hater screaming at you about the multi bosses

most of the time its him being vague but rightfully proud of the stuff he is making. like him describing the finale as something he wanted to do since final fantasy and its prob from a persp of a game dev doing a multi boss set piece>then doing a multi elevation final boss w/ ground, air, and sea

ppl sometime go "he lies constantly/cant trust his comment in interviews"but going back to 7r/kh interviews,the thing surprises me is he is very consistent. you get funny moments like him talking about grenades in 7r or being super proud of attractions but most of the time hes vague but on point
