Actually not a uniform thickness - the topology of the part is designed to a) be printable and b) withstand a decent bit of flexion. If you have any suggestions for this model let me know!
As far as manufacturing goes - I think it would NEED to be at least two parts. But hey, I'm no machinist!

Finished CAD for the first version of the planetary hubs. 112 teeth on the ring, 28 teeth on the sun (the middle). 4x reduction in speed, 4x multiplication in torque.
Wishing I had more than one 3D printer right now...
