Again, unions make absolute sense for the the exact reasons you stated above for working actors. Without SAG AFTRA, artists would be 100% exploited.

I can’t speak towards other industries, but Starbucks workers and ski resort workers certainly come to mind.

That’s false. The only way to earn a decent wage in Hollywood is to join a union. Especially as an actor. Otherwise you’re at the mercy of being paid nothing or next to it. Speaking from +15 years of experience.
