Dear Friends, Like so many beloved independent restaurants, the challenges of recent years have become too great to overcome — from the aftereffects of COVID-19 and the entertainment industry strikes, to the film business moving away from Southern California, and the ever-rising costs of food and labor. Yet, through it all, what has sustained us is you. So, with a heavy heart, after nearly eighteen wonderful years in Culver City, AKASHA will be closing its doors. Our final day of restaurant service will be Sunday, October 5th. Your support has meant the world to us, and we would love if you could join us for one last meal in the restaurant. But this is not goodbye. In the spirit of a dear friend who once reminded us to make “lemonade out of lemons” after losing her home in the wildfires, we are moving forward with catering and special events. Please keep us in mind for your holiday catering needs. For the time being, our AKASHA At Home meals will be available for pick-up and delivery, and we will keep you posted about other special menu offerings. We are profoundly grateful to our loyal guests, restaurant partners, farmers and vendors, our staff past and present, and the many friends who have become family along the way. With gratitude and love,Akasha, Alan, and the AKASHA Team
