Some of my past work!

I was the staff editor (read: project manager, coordinator, line proofreader, and layout) for a quarterly peer-reviewed medical journal for nearly 4 years. I loved all of it.

Hey-yo, it's done and chillin. Excited to make soup with this later in the week.
One large glass jar filled with a thick brown liquid (homemade stock). Next to it is a smaller jar that is about half full. Both are on a kitchen counter next to an induction hob and cabinet, and behind them are a package of cherry tomatoes and kitchen utensils.

Inspired by Tracy, I am making chicken/beef stock today.
Frozen block of onion discards, roast chicken carcass, and beef trimmings on a bright yellow pan. Parsley, additional onion skins, and chopped vegetables(red onion, leek, bell peppers) filling a stockpot at least a third full. No liquid. Same yellow pan from before now with very browned and roasted bones, trimmings, and vegetable cutoffs. It looks less than half the size. Contents of stockpot with the yellow pan roasted bits added, along with enough water to cover the scraps.

Spare a thought for my problematic fave today. Bordeaux the orangey is at the vet today for a cleaning and anywhere between 1 and all of his teeth are being removed. Hopefully this will help with his constant pain and horrendous bad breath.

Not all cats are like this, but I'm blessed to be this dude's favorite.

Good news: today I went to a physical therapy for a 3 month old injury, and now I can walk without pain or limping again.

I love your cats! 😻 What are their names?

Champagne (buff and white) and Bordeaux (orange and white) are our newest family members. They're 6-year-old littermates and boy oh boy are they classic "no one can bully you but me" siblings. We adore them.

We had no idea on January 1, 2024 what the year held (saying goodbye to Sapphire) nor did we know that we would end the year with two gorgeous siblings (Champagne and Bordeaux).

It's been a whirlwind of emotions, but 2025 is looking bright.

6 weeks after we lost our precious elder baby to kidney failure, we picked up these munchkins yesterday. They're already causing (managable) chaos and give me life.

I present Champagne and Bordeaux, 6 year old orange and white tabbies from a local rescue.
