"You're probably not used to being called an optimist, but "low probability" puts at least one foot in the optimist camp. One doesn't need to be a doomer to estimate the probability as quite high, as I do.

ACLU kicked Elizabeth Gurley Flynn off its executive committee in 1940 for her communist ties, and ia decade later wouldn't directly defend those charged w violating the McCarran Act.This led to the founding of the National Emergency Civil Liberties Committee, which practiced what the ACLU preached.

I don't doubt Christie himself would have fallen in line had Trump put him in the cabinet, rather than being blackballed by Jared Kushner because he had prosecuted Kushner's father.
