Read about the Resniks, how they cornered the water 'market', and bought corrupt politicians.

There is a structural problem with corruption in the water "Agencies" which have been privatized and throttled. If you are a journalist you will probably be fired for reporting this as the basic cause, which it clealy is.

Imo, he is completely dishonest and knows he is lying. Has been for years.

If they didn't have the resever or reinsurance -- they are selling a fraudulent product. I want criminal investigation before we go to bailouts. The insurance models lead their decisions.

I am an American living in Italy, and imo the vast majority of Italians and Europeans agree with you.

Imo, his political future depends on the next job. For me if he goes into industry or a think tank that is a dead end. I would love if he found a voice as an activist, rather than going the direction of Liz Cheney. A news show would be great if he had editorial control.

I am an engineer and, while I understand inflation hurt his budger, would be curious to hear about successful initiatives in his department.

I was a donor long ago when he first ran (based on his Bernie essay), but later soured on his record e.g. bulldozing the homeless in bend, loading low income homes with fees then seizing them, excessive militarism, &c...
January 18, 2025 at 5:08 AM
Does anyone know what his next job will be?
January 18, 2025 at 5:04 AM
Imo, Cheney not the best messenger on this issue (or politics more generally), Imo.
January 16, 2025 at 5:44 AM
Regardless of who is in there -- I want someone who will audit the big contractors (and fire a few) and work to keep people safe at home not foreign wars for resources and regime change. These have created festering disasters that make us less safe and are bad for the environment and business.
January 16, 2025 at 5:27 AM
I am delighted to hear counter examples, but I think of the senator from raytheon as pro-regime change when it comes time to vote. She has not been for accountability w.r.t. past recent conflicts either. This can change US can do better as a global actor for peace. And, Democrats can win elections
January 16, 2025 at 5:24 AM
Looking at the comments below, lots of people want to defeat this or that country. Imo, these wars are impractical, expensive and make us less safe. Republicans realize this and Democrats can win on peaceful foreign policy.
January 16, 2025 at 5:22 AM
Lol -- warren trying to be even more pro-war than hegseth. Go team raytheon neocon backbench!
January 16, 2025 at 5:17 AM
There is a big question related to private water ownership, the transfer of public property to two wealthy billionaires, and the resulting throtling of resources to urban areas. There is a big fraud behind this....
January 16, 2025 at 5:12 AM
I can't imagine anyone wants that for their own nation. Do you want to send your kid to fight for him. No way!
January 16, 2025 at 5:10 AM
Zelensky destroyed his own country. 7 million fled to the EU and none want to return. He cancelled elections to keep power (if they have draft records they can vote). He loaded his country with debt and wasted billions to make them the poorest in the region. He did not need to escalate.
January 16, 2025 at 5:09 AM
He did it, and imo it was a criminal act to supply weapons to a nation that uses starvation as a tool of war. I am hopeful for ceasefire and statehood. I am also against the syria regime change. Not because asad is great, but what came next is probably worse.
January 16, 2025 at 5:04 AM
I'm not a |trump supporter. But, the lies of Zelensky have to stop. He is a boat anchor for democrats, they will never win on war escalation. The whole thing a mistake, imo. Especially, bombing Nordstream. This is causing a big fracture with western Europe.
January 16, 2025 at 5:01 AM
Look at the news. You can see cleary that I am correct. If it changes I will appologize. But, meanwhile, you should be aware of the fact that zelinsky says many things for PR that he has not the ability or intent to actully do. SImple case right here. He wants money, he does not have extra.
January 16, 2025 at 4:59 AM
The war supporters show bad manners, anti-intellectualism, and sound like they're stuck in the 50s, with the Russian bot thing. Most Americans are against regime change wars of choice, like this one. They make us less safe and cause many innocents to suffer.
January 16, 2025 at 4:56 AM
Especially regime change wars of choice or for resources. Shame on Zelensky for running a proxy war at the expense of his people. Especially foul was his use of forced conscription. I am here to say this war was a failure, and supporters should rethink it. Or, send your kids. I won't send mine.
January 16, 2025 at 4:52 AM
Second day and the anti-war message attracts good followers. I am also pro-environment, and support health care, housing and medical for all, consumer protection, all civil rights, anti-racist. No more wars!!!
January 16, 2025 at 4:49 AM
So funny, it is like the 50s -- people see russian agents everywhere. Lol. Too much neocon TV news, methinks. Most Americans are against the war. You are the one advocting for a foreign nation (Ukraine) and mass killing. It is an increasingly unpopular position, even among dems.
January 16, 2025 at 4:46 AM
That is a red herring. The vax programs will not be eliminated, but then can and should be investigated. Consumer protection (not liability waivers) is appropriate. Some of those companies were cheating on test results, and there should be consequences, yet they get a free pass for crime.
