I don't know if this is because I mainlined Maud a little too hard for Yuletide or if Anne Shirley is just how I think when the whisky switches off the pressure to conform.

I wouldn't consider myself a person who shies away from emotional vulnerability, but I can't deny that there's a big difference between cerebral willingness and the *act* of intentionally leaning into big, uncomfortable feelings.

I don't know when I stopped telling stories where I'm the main character, but this is a muscle I haven't used in a really long time. The thing that surprises me the most is that when I'm able to put myself in my current ttrpg character's perspective, I'm instantly overwhelmed with emotion.

I underestimated how much she was going to love unloved animals. Her love for skunks and opossums and nightmares is bottomless.

My suspicion is that I feel like writing because my creativity needs the quiet focused time, and if I could make that quiet focus time later in the day we *could* reschedule this inconvenient creative impulse.
