This little dervish opens drawers, cabinets, & doors. I had to put a child lock on my closet pocket door, & she snuck into a sliding door closet to eat the handles off of a large trash bag (pica). Woke me up most nights with her shenanigans. I miss Bella, but I am glad she is living with my kiddo.

This is me in 1988. Cannot remember the context of the photo, but it was the only pic of me that my mom had in a photo album filled with formal studio portraits of my brother and his family 😂

Spending a few days at my happy place (this is Moolack Beach). It’s been pouring rain and windy for the most part, but yesterday was sunny and beautiful. I am obsessed with rocks and sand art created by wind and waves.
The north side of Yaquina Head Light House. Blue sky with a few clouds, lots of whitecaps in the water, and in the forefront, lots of flat ‘shelves” of shiny black rock. The sand is covered with small black rocks, worn smooth by the ocean. Piles of driftwood on a grassy bluff with the Pacific Ocean beyond. The water is rough and covered in whitecaps, and the sky is deep blue. A close-up of a big, dark gray rock with bands of black, dark rust, and salmon-colored stone. There are some embedded shells, and lots of tiny, pale green barnacles. A 4-5 inch reddish stone on the sand. The ocean waves have created an intricate pattern in the sand that radiates outward above the stone and looks like tree limbs with many small branches.

My 7th graders loved this book. In one class, The first kiddo to read it brought in a little stuffed monkey that sat on his desk every day, and got passed around along with the book until every single classmate read it.

Said goodbye to my sweet pup two months ago. Next week I am going to sprinkle some of her ashes at my parents’ graves (lost mom in ’21 and dad in ‘23). She was their therapy dog for their last few years of life and brought them so much joy and comfort 🧡

Our family got their first dog, Hank, before my brother & I were born. We always had dogs. 60+ years later, I recently said a final goodbye to my sweet Jazzi. They bring so much joy to our lives 🧡
