2/ In 1955 Louis Armstrong and Lotte Lenya recorded ‘Mack the Knife’. Armstrong sneaks in her name in the song lyrics.

Lotte Lenya, singer, actor and Bond villain, passed away OTD in 1981.

4/ In the 1950s the brothers reconnected, toured with their band and gave a young singer from Mississippi a chance to debut on national television: Elvis Presley.
A few months later Tommy Dorsey, Sentimental Gentleman of Swing, passed away, OTD in 1956.
