My daughter's went onto Dartmoor to see the sun rise this morning and there was snow up there. Just icy down in Exeter and lovely sunshine

I'm reading a novel where dragons control the weather, and a female one becomes human. When she gets upset or angry the weather becomes stormy! Sometimes it's good to escape reality for a bit and inhabit a world where anything is possible.

Happy New Year to you too. I look forward to seeing what creative plans you have this year, and wish you every happiness. Maybe we'll see you down in Devon again soon

That cellar could tell many stories, with its servant bells, scullery with copper, wood room and wine cellar. We had a table tennis table down there too. You could run down there and confuse visitors by running up some back stairs into the kitchen. Great for hide and seek

I grew up in an old house with a big cellar. My parents left a box of apples from the garden at the top of the cellar stairs. At night they could be heard being bumped down the stairs by the rats!

It always seems funny to see Christmas celebrations in a hot country. I hope Mr Benn is suitably attired, maybe his jungle outfit would be good

Growing up in the East of England we often got freezing winds from Siberia and lots of snow, which was great as a child. A friend and I built an igloo once, or at least attempted to anyway. Not sure we managed a roof!

It's recommended by some people that you walk around a bit if you can't sleep otherwise you lie there feeling frustrated. In medieval times they had Second Sleep, getting up in the night, doing some jobs and then going back to sleep. I was up in the night but didn't do any jobs, just ate something!

There are so many jokes that could be made about that but I'm going to leave it people's imaginations!

I saw a lovely programme about 70s children's TV, my era. Really was a golden era before satellite TV made it commercial and less innocent. Followed by 1st episode of Bod and recollections of its theme tilune by Derek Griffiths. You must be proud of being part of all that. Thank you!

Gradual signs of intelligence?

Your uncle sounds amazing, it's hard to imagine just how awful that must have been for them, similar with the World Wars. Currently reading a novel set in Spanish Civil War/WW2. Such brutality is hideous. We have Americans to thank for Turkey Xmas I'm afraid!

Sorry to cause salivation! Had to look up Butterball! The go to type of turkey here is Kelly Bronze. I bought one for my in-laws once

Went to a hotel once where the veggie option was fish!

I find turkey rather bland, prefer lamb or pork. Spare rib roll produces the best crackling and my roasties are legendary. Served with carrots, roast parsnips with the potatoes braised red cabbage, brussels and leeks in white sauce. Son makes a mean chocolate mousse! My mum and in-laws will be there

Can't criticise, I'm in bed listening to the radio after going out to buy some pork for our Christmas lunch (no turkey for us!)

You sure know how to live the high life!

Yes, I definitely want the sun and warmth back as soon as possible.

For sale: theremin, hardly touched!

That's brilliant, congratulations. You can end up taking drugs for the side effects of the side effects of a whole series of drugs. Glad you've found a good combo. All my work is trauma focused and I am amazed by how people have survived and made it into therapy. V humbling and a privilege for me
