Is this some milquetoast attempt to "lean into affordability"? People are getting killed. Get him impeached and put in prison where he belongs. Then worry about the price of eggs.

What is happening now was 50 years in the making and will take at least as long to undo. Those of us who had enough humanity to oppose it foolishly believed in opposition leaders who were impotent at best and complicit at worst. It is shameful all around.

A lot of us put our faith in democratic leaders who didn't deserve it, and we need to learn from that. There is nothing to be learned from "I didn't do it!"

It seems like the whole point is that they don't abide by the rules, even the ones they made for themselves... and then nobody does anything about it, even people who obviously could and stand to gain by doing so. Repeat with more and more heinous crimes until they can do anything they want.

The fact that David Brooks appears in these files, and wrote this article about it, is the most David Brooks thing I have ever heard in my life.

It's ok to argue with nazis at Thanksgiving dinner... it's an obligation, really.

This presumes that capitulation to the republicans is somehow going to stop them from wanting to starve people to death.

My take on this is that stopping the republicans will always be less painful than what they have in store for us if we don't. I feel like that has been proven over and over again, and people understand it.

Any destruction that would occur as a result of a government shutdown is going to look like a cupcake party compared to what the right has planned for this country. Things are going to get worse before they get better - the only solution is to stop them, by any means necessary.

As an American can I say that when you see a fascist in your midst you must run them out of town on a rail. Otherwise you will end up like us.

Obstructing fascism is a calling of the highest order. Everything the Nazis did was legal under their own regime.

What a disgusting human being. I have made another contribution to your campaign and I hope you get elected and can bring some justice to these monsters.

This is sickening. What has this country become.
September 19, 2025 at 6:46 PM
As someone who was forced into it when it was first released, you get used to it after a while. Kind of like if you worked at a sewage treatment plant and didn't notice the smell anymore.

Because no matter how many times you put a new user interface on it it's still the same code from 1985

Well I certainly won't make excuses for him... and I confess I may be desperate for a hero at this point. 😒

I used to feel this way but honestly I've come to believe his wealth is a plus. He could have just stood against the wall and not caused any trouble and he chose not to. Obscenely wealthy people only want things that money can't buy - like a legacy. He wants to be the guy who stood up to Trump.

One lefty's echo chamber is another lefty's space where truth and respect and common decency are championed, and anyone who comes in with lies and hatred and fascism gets a punch in the face, rhetorically speaking. Beyond that, reasonable people can disagree on candidates and strategy.
