Sorry, but the Adolf Eichmann Theory of Law doesn’t fly with me.

There are other options other than murdering people in cold blood in violation of the law.
In those military organizations, respect for the Chain of Command is sacrosanct. If you want to keep your job, you do as your told. This concept of “disobeying illegal orders” is an utopia. Especially when the Commander-in-Chief was told by SCOTUS that he cannot be found to have acted criminally.

Shutting down the government is a big deal. People have been hurt in big ways as a result of the decision. To have that suffering be for nothing—to re-open the government without actually having protected people’s health insurance and economic well-being—is unconscionable.

New Union of Concerned Scientists report documents an "extreme rise" in "attacks on science" under Trump. Sort of a squishy term, though they do define it and if you use the same definition across these periods it still gets the point across.

I took my 2 year old son to an MLB game today for some quality dad time and he absolutely had a blast. In fact, he was sad when the game ended because he wanted to stay at the ballpark. It was a good reminder that there’s still a lot of joy in life.
