Illustration done for the first publication of my colleague Nicolas Zucker. He managed to measure heart and breathing rate by monitoring tissue motion in the brain using ultrasound, what a crazy idea ! #sciart 🐡 #scicomm 🧪 #neuroscience 🧠🫀🫁🤯

Whenever you hear someone sneer about scientific research that seems useless to them — “they’re studying the spit of lizards?!” — remind them that’s exactly how we got Ozempic.

How a Canadian scientist and a venomous lizard helped pave the way for Ozempic - National | Globalnews.ca
In 1984, Dr. Daniel Drucker, an endocrinologist from the University of Toronto, discovered a hormone that helped pave the way for popular diabetes drugs such as Ozempic.

🧠🧩 A breakthrough in memory research! Scientists at ESPCI – PSL discovered a key link between astrocytes, neurons, and hydrogen peroxide (H₂O₂) in long-term memory. This could reshape our understanding of Alzheimer’s disease.

Here is a 3D illustration on how ultrasound waves can activate the mechanosensitive RET signalling pathway. A cascade of reaction from the cell membrane to the nucleus. The design was inspired by the interaction of cosmic rays with earth atmosphere 🌍🔬 #sciart 🐡 #scicomm 🧪 @physmedparis.bsky.social

Studying brain autoregulation implies to be able to separate blood flow in veins and artery. With my PhD student Nikan Fakhari, we proposed a new method to achieve this on ultrafast doppler data.
