Finally seeing pods on the bean vines. 🌱 A reminder that sometimes in leadership, the hardest part is trusting the process. Growth doesn’t always happen on our timeline, but steady care brings results.

First solo trail walk with just Miss Mattie today. 💜 We went off-trail, paused at Big Rock and the dry creek, then climbed a bit—things we hadn’t done in a while. It was quiet, sweet, and a little sad. We miss Oakley, but we carried him with us. 🐾🌿 #MissMattie #ForOakley

I write down 3 things I'm grateful for every day. It’s like a daily love letter to my life. Gratitude helps me stay grounded—and science says it boosts mood, sleep, and even relationships. A small habit with big impact.
What are you grateful for today?

If pure joy had a face, it would definitely look like this. Oakley is living his best life — sunshine, tall grass, and all the good smells.

Sunny skies, happy dogs, and a peaceful trail — hard to ask for more. Feeling thankful for mornings like this!

When I was on City Council, the media said things about me that weren’t true or fair. I got mad but never said, “Let’s ban Fox from City Hall.”

A free press matters. Even when it’s uncomfortable.

Public broadcasting matters too. It exists to inform people.

Just finished The Library at Mount Char for my “Branching Out” read in the Chapter Chasers Challenge. Dark, weird, intense, and totally original. Not my usual genre, but I’m glad I stuck with it. Fantasy meets cosmic fever dream! #ChapterChasers #NowReading

A few days ago, I skipped yoga and made brik instead—feta, black olive, harissa, and cilantro folded in egg roll wrappers and fried to crispy perfection. Self-care looks different every day. That night, it looked like kitchen therapy.

Some of us are very excited about that downpour—towel time & all! After weeks of dry weather and with the Table Rock fire just up the road, we’re beyond grateful for the rain. Hoping it brings relief where it’s needed most.

Do you see what I see? That’s my oregano, poking through the leaf mulch in The Old Muscadine Field. Bought it half-dead for $1 in 2023. Planted it anyway. It thrived, came back last summer—and here it is again. Tough little plant.

Yesterday was all books, naps, snacks, walks (with Oakley & Mattie), and a little yoga with the retiree crew. They chatted about gardening, book club, art classes, and field trips. I’m just trying to touch my toes—they’re out here thriving. Color me ready to retire.

On our walk, Oakley & Mattie found one of Trent’s shoes… in the woods. The other was still on the porch. Trent’s been sick for days, so how did it get there?

Google says foxes steal shoes—especially leather ones. Guess we have a fashion-forward fox in the neighborhood! 🦊👟

Women’s history isn’t just about looking back—it’s about building a future where leadership, innovation, and equity thrive.

Let’s go beyond recognition. Let’s mentor, advocate, and open doors for the next generation. Who are the women who inspire you? #WomensHistoryMonth #Leadership #Equity

Just finished Anita de Monte Laughs Last—a haunting, art-filled novel about power, erasure, and belonging. Sharp, thought-provoking, and a perfect pick for my "connecting cultures" book in the Chapter Chasers Challenge! Fans of Mexican Gothic will love this one.

The longer you hold onto what’s not meant for you, the longer you delay what is. This year, I’m staying open—to opportunities that align with my purpose and values, to growth, and to the unknown. What could happen if you opened yourself to something new?

Enough is enough. You don’t have to burn out to do a job well. Your energy level doesn’t define your performance—impact does. Sustainable success comes from knowing when you’ve done what’s needed and allowing that to be enough. #BurnoutPrevention #WorkLifeBalance #SustainableSuccess #MindsetShift

Life isn’t about following a set melody—it’s about creating your own. Some days flow effortlessly; others feel dissonant. But together, we compose something uniquely beautiful. Grateful for those who harmonize with me and the lessons in every note. #Gratitude #LifeIsASong #HarmonyInTheJourney
